Library and Knowledge Service Manager
(Band 7) £31,696 - £41,787 per annum/pro rata
Interviews will be on the 13th October 2017

We are looking for Library and Knowledge Service Manager who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward by ensuring the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and staff.

Medway NHS Foundation Trust is unique – undergoing transformational changes within the organisation that provides an extensive range of clinical services to a diverse population of approximately 400,000 across Medway and Swale.

We are pleased to announce that following a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission we have exited special measures after ‘major improvements’. Medway NHS is now no longer rated as inadequate overall, with one area described as ‘outstanding’ and many others as ‘good’.

Are you looking for a challenge; are you a senior librarian who has experience of working at a strategic level; are you passionate about connecting people to the best evidence; do you possess excellent communication and analytical skills?

If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for you to lead on the development of the Trusts Library and Knowledge Management Service.

You will be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive strategic plan for the Library and Knowledge Management Service, ensuring that it connects people to the best available evidence to inform clinical practice. A key element of this role is to ensure that the service is innovative and responsive.

To achieve this, you will need to work in close co-operation with other NHS libraries in the region and in partnership with key departments in the Trust e.g. Clinical Effectiveness, Research and Development and Organisational and Professional and Development.

We are looking for a Senior Librarian with a degree level qualification in Library and Information Services and who is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, with a sustained record of CPD.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills and the ability to interrogate systems for relevant information and to produce accurate and meaningful reports using appropriate software packages. They will also have an excellent understanding of knowledge management practice and an in depth knowledge of managing and developing library services in order to communicate and demonstrate these to all our staff.

This is a challenging role and we want a highly motivated individual who is pro-active and able to make decisions about service resources, balancing the service user needs against the budgetary and physical assets available.

Applicants will also have to share our Values and have our ambition to be the BEST!

To contribute to our exciting future and become part of our team apply today.

Medway NHS Foundation Trust is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of vulnerable adults and children.
